You are at trial. A CT scan which has been placed into evidence is being utilized by a defense expert in a manner never disclosed before. You object at the bench that it was not disclosed on the deposition and the judge overrules your objection. You have a short recess to contact your expert and have him analyze the defense expert’s scary opinion. If you shot a photograph of the image on your smart phone you will try to explain to the expert how they are using it. The trouble is that neither you nor your expert have an arrow to point out what you want him to see and describing it can be confusing while the clock is ticking away.

However, if you are using NuageDx, instead of the smart phone photograph, you can do this quickly and efficiently, since you have the entire exam at your disposal. The photograph is uploaded into Nuage and when viewed with your expert you can point out with an arrow what the defense expert has disclosed.

Your expert says that a different slice (image) in the exam will disprove what he is saying.  Using the NuageDx viewer, which contains the entire exam, not just a single slice (image), your expert shows you a different slice while you are screen sharing, and then uses an arrow to point out the pathology he believes makes his point.

Your expert has you write down the slice number identification where you want to show their expert the evidence you want to utilize.  You can ask the defense expert “what if there was another slice in the study which demonstrated (describe the pathology your expert has indicated would refute the defense expert’s testimony)”. If he agrees that would change his opinion, you can now, through your projector, show the image they have testified to and then navigate to the sagittal, coronal, or axial slice your expert has marked with an arrow.

This is just one example where you have instant control over MRI or CT scans, so you have the ability, either with your expert witness on direct examination or use during cross examination, to instantly be more flexible and powerful.

Communicate Better with a Client

For those clients who cannot come to your office, you now can have complete consultations with your client over NuageDx. Even if you want him in the office to see him directly, the organization of instantly locating anything in your file quickly and efficiently is a feature on NuageDx.

Since all images and files are stored together in the client’s profile folder, NuageDx allows you to teleconference with a client easily and instantly over NuageDx.  While sharing the same screen you can show them the pleadings, discovery documents, depositions, medical images, or photographs you wish to discuss.
