Dr. Virgil Williams is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with a subspecialty in neuroradiology. After graduating from Loyal University Medical School, Chicago and completing his internship, residency, and fellowship training at Loyola University Foster McGaw Hospital, he entered private practice in Chicago at Grant Hospital. In 1988 he migrated to the San Francisco Bay area where he practiced at the trauma center in Oakland, California and served as the medical director of outpatient imaging. Dr. Williams is former Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of Illinois; University of California, San Francisco; and University of California, Davis.

Dr. Williams is founder and president of Medical Insights Diagnostic Centers, Inc. Medical Insights was founded 2004 to provide imaging services to the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Williams has provided consultation as a consultant witness for over 30 years. In 2016 he decided to collaborate with the legal profession to develop an interactive cloud-based system that would provide attorneys with a seamless, timesaving, cost-effective way to collaborate and consult with healthcare professionals, consultants, and others in the legal community. Realizing that attorneys should be able to simultaneously view and discuss medical images and files with consultants without the use of DICOM imaging disks and having to spend wasted time traveling to their offices, Nuage Diagnostics (NuageDx) was created.

As a HIPAA complaint telepresence system, Nuage Diagnostics allows attorneys to forward and share selected files with their designated consultants, associates, and others. All client files including videoconferences, videos and all legal documents are stored in a secure, cloud-based, client profile that is only available to designated parties from any PC, MAC, tablet, or smart phone. Now both attorneys and their designated parties can use the same systems used by hospitals and radiologists (PACS – Picture Archival and Communication System) to view all medical images without the need to store, file and mail DICOM imaging discs. There is no longer the need to mail large bulky client files.

Nuage videoconference sessions can occur with consultants and others while simultaneously annotating and viewing medical images and other files. Multiple medical professionals of different disciplines and multiple attorneys can collaborate and simultaneously view medical images and files. The videoconferences can be recorded and stored in the client’s profile and later reviewed while taking notes.
